Cabins at Green Mountain, Missouri

We had a great visit here in Missouri - much easier to navigate around to the Stores than Myrtle Beach.   Everything is here - Target, Best Buy, Dinner Shows of all kinds; Panera, Golden Coral, Craker Barrel, and a lot more.   The road systems are great and clearly marked.

While Cabins at Green Mountain is a part of Festiva Hospitality Group, they also do nightly rentals if you just walk in off the street.   Here are some pictures of our unit.   Notice all the real wood -- looks Rustic!

Tomorrow we start our three-day drive home.

The last three photos were taken at the 60's Music Show.   Sorry if they are a bit blurry -- hard to get a clear one when they are dancing.

SIX

Last night Ron and I went to a show in Branson, MO, called SIX.   It was six voices, no instruments, and all music.   Fantastic show.    Check it out at:  http://www.thesixshow.com/six

SIX are six real brothers. They actually come from a family of ten brothers, no sisters and are the six oldest in the family. Apparently their mom and dad (Arnold and Joyce Knudsen) wanted a girl.

Sorry if the photos are a bit blurry, but you will get the gist of it.

A Trip to Branson, MO

Traveling with Winston, our Miniature Schnauzer, it took us three days of driving to finally arrive at Cabins at Green Mountain within the Festiva, a fantastic Timeshare Company.

The unit is a very nice two-bedroom unit with real wood floors throughout and decorated as if everything was purchased everything from LLBean.   The decor has pine trees, bears, and should have the mountain scent.  We are located in the mountains as well with the hustle and bustle of all the tourists, shows, restaurants, and traffic around us.

We purchased tickets to four shows; however, the LaBamba show got cancelled because the front desk scheduled it to the wrong date -- Darn!   We were really looking forward to seeing that show.

Tonight we will be, seeing "SIX" - Six male voices, no instruments, and all music. I have been wanting to see something like this for about two years now.

Tomorrow night we will be seeing a Tribute to George Strait.   This will be a dinner show -- dinner first in what looks like an old diner.

Grandfather Mountain near Banner Elk, NC

The early part of September 2014, Ron and I decided to go back to the Festiva Timeshare, Banner Elk, that is just above Boone, NC.   Ron told me that he has had "Grandfather Mountain" on his Bucket List for awhile.   I told Ron that I didn't know he had a Bucket List.

Climbing the rocks to get to the highest part of Grandfather Mountain was a struggle for me as I just don't have any balance anymore.   Ron did make it to the top.

The Mile High Swinging Bridge was built to give visitors easy access to the breathtaking view from Grandfather Mountain’s Linville Peak.
The 228-foot suspension bridge spans an 80-foot chasm at more than one mile in elevation. Surveys show that the journey to the other side is always considered the highlight of a trip to Grandfather Mountain.

Quips about Rainbows

About a month ago, we were having dinner at a Chinese Restaurant and after dinner, we got the famous fortune cookies -- Mine said:  "If you want the rainbow, you have to tolerate the rain".   This quote was so me, that I kept it.

Back in the middle 1980's, we lived in Frankfurt, Germany.   I tell you not, it must have rained every day while we were living there.   You had no choice but to tolerate the rain.   The sad part about living there was the sun did not shine much in order for the rainbow to appear.

The other day, I saw a commercial from Sherwin Williams that said, "Where will the colors take you?"   I just love going to a paint store and looking at all the paint chips.   It is a happy place to go!
